Intro
Some do not know, but the very first computer was not a well known brand. It was not IBM, Apple, or Commadore.
The first computer was The Simon, first theorized in 1950. It was, in theory, a mechanical brain. This machine could be built by the owner and was user-programable. The plans cost roughly between $300 and $600.
By 1959, about 400 plans were sold. There are no true specifications for the Simon.
On a separate but related note, the first microcomputer was the Intel SIM4, made in 1972. It utilized the first microprocessor, the Intel 8008.
